Meeting Format
From September through June, we have three meetings, at 7:30pm on the first three Wednesday evenings of the month. (Please consult our calendar, which changes sometimes due to school or religious holidays.)
The meetings fall into the following categories:
Members' Learning Nights
On the first Wednesday of the month, we work together to learn new skills and techniques. PCLI members take turns leading these sessions which are often accompanied by presentations and videos.
Guest Speakers
PCLI sponsors well-known professional photographers who discuss in detail and demonstrate their particular area of expertise and the techniques they use. This meeting is open to the public at the Port Washington Public Library on the second Wednesday of the month
Critiques
Each month, members are invited to submit up to 5 digital images to be critiqued on interest, composition, exposure, and technique by experienced outside photography judges. An optional 'theme' is assigned for each critique night, and each member is encouraged to try to submit at least one image relating to that topic.
Exhibits
PCLI hosts an annual member's Exhibit and a Multimedia Photographic Presentation. A photography exhibit in on the 2nd floor of the Port Washington Library, runs for one month and features work from all club members. The "Music and Images Show" features a compilation of 3 minute programs of images and music submitted by individual members..
